Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 13 August 2025

1. Who We Are

This website is operated by Statewide Litigation Pty Ltd trading as Ridge Legal (ABN 23 688 851 096) (“Ridge Legal”, “we”, “our” or “us”).
Our website address is: https://ridgelegal.com.au.

We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, use and disclose your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect personal information that you provide to us directly or that is collected automatically when you use our site, including:

  • Your name, contact details, and other information you provide in forms, comments, or bookings.
  • Information automatically collected by cookies, pixels, and analytics tools (see Section 4).
  • Your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and interaction data.
  • Any data you upload, including documents or images.

3. Comments & User-Generated Content

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string for spam detection.
An anonymised string from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service (see Gravatar Privacy Policy).

If you upload images, you should remove embedded location data (EXIF GPS) before uploading.

4. Cookies, Tracking & Analytics

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve our website, understand user behaviour, deliver relevant advertising, and measure marketing performance. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device.

These technologies may track:

  • Pages you visit and the time you spend on our site.
  • Actions you take on the site (e.g., clicks, form submissions, bookings).
  • Your general location, browser type, and device information.

The primary services we use for these purposes include:

  • Google Tag Manager: A tag management system that helps us manage the tracking technologies used on our site.
  • Google Analytics: For website usage analytics.
  • Google Ads: For advertising performance measurement and remarketing.
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel: For targeted advertising and analytics.
  • Reddit Pixel: For advertising measurement and remarketing.
  • Calendly Cookies: To manage and streamline your appointment bookings.

4A. Google Analytics Advertising Features

We have enabled Google Analytics Advertising Features to better understand our users and provide relevant advertising. These features include:

  • Remarketing with Google Analytics
  • Google Display Network Impression Reporting
  • Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting

To do this, we and third-party vendors, including Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as Google’s advertising cookies) together. This allows us to inform, optimise, and serve ads based on your past visits to our website and report on our ad impressions and interactions. No personally identifiable information is merged with the non-personally identifiable information collected through these features without your affirmative consent.

4B. Your Choices and Opting Out

You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings, but please note that some site functions may not work as intended if you do.

To specifically opt-out of Google’s advertising and analytics features, you can use the following resources:

Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) Consumer Opt-Out: To opt-out of interest-based advertising from NAI member companies.

Google’s Ad Settings: To manage the ads you see and opt out of ads personalisation.

Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: To prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics.

4C. User-ID and Hashed Data

To provide a more consistent experience across your various devices, we may use the Google Analytics User-ID feature. If you provide us with personal information (such as an email address or phone number through a form), we may send a securely hashed version of this information to Google. Hashing is a cryptographic security method that turns your information into an anonymised string of text before it leaves your browser.

This hashed data is used by Google solely to associate your different browsing sessions and devices with a single anonymous user ID, helping us analyse user journeys without revealing your personal identity to Google. We will only enable this feature where we have your explicit consent to do so.

5. Embedded Content from Other Websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.) from other websites. These sites may collect data, use cookies, and track your interaction in the same way as if you visited them directly.
